Meizu has recently released the company’s mid-range M2 Note handset, which is the second smartphone Meizu has launched this year. Earlier in the year, the company has showcased the Meizu M1, also a mid-range offering. That being said, this China-based smartphone OEM has received quite a significant number of investments lately, have increased their profits significantly, and we’re expecting them to announce a couple of smartphones before the end of the year. The Meizu MX5 will most definitely be one of those devices, and according to a number of leaks, it will launch next to the Meizu MX5 Pro which was also rumored and leaked lately.
Well, it seems like the Meizu MX5 Pro just got certified in China. The Meizu M578CE has appeared in China Quality Certification Center’s listing, and be the looks of it, this could be the Meizu MX5 Pro. The Meizu MX5 model numbers are M575U and M575M, so this is probably the MX5 Pro. The listing shows that this variant of the device comes with support for 4G LTE (TD-LTE networks). Judging by the timing of this listing, the phone might even launch later this month, though we probably won’t be available until July. We’re only speculating though, the facts are still not clear.
Now, regarding the specs of this thing. Previous rumors said that the phone will feature a 6-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) panel along with 4GB of RAM and an oval-shaped physical home button below the display. The Meizu M2 Note also sport a physical home button this time around, and the MX5 will as well judging by the rumors. The Meizu MX5 Pro is also expected to utilize Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core SoC (though we somehow doubt that will happen, MediaTek’s unit is a much more probable solution), and the phone will quite probably ship with a 4,000mAh battery. The 20-megapixel shooter is expected to be available on the back of this phablet, and you can also expect it to be made out of metal. The device will ship with Android Lollipop pre-installed, and Meizu’s Flyme UI will be installed on top of Google’s operating system.

I’ve always been interested in technology but when I got my first Android phone years ago I was hooked. Mobile technology has been my first priority ever since. I’m currently using the LG G3 phablet, even though I’m prone to using Nexus devices, but I sold my Nexus 5 smartphone and the Nexus 6 is just too big (and pricey) for me. Other than technology I also enjoy football, movies and TV shows along with socializing with my friends and family.
