Many of you have probably never heard of this OEM, but they do tend to release an interesting device from time to time. The company has unveiled an affordable mid-range tablet at the end of last year, the Chuwi DX1, and is now back with yet another tablet offering. This tablet is even more affordable than the DX1, and it offers a really interesting functionality, read on.

The Chuwi Hi8 was available for pre-order for quite some time, and is now available for purchase for only $ 96. What is so special about this thing? Well, it offers dual boot, you get both Android 4.4 KitKat and Windows 8.1 pre-installed on this thing. If you’re interested in such devices, your options are truly limited, not many OEMs make such devices. The Chuwi Hi8 is definitely not the most powerful device out there, but it’s really cheap and it actually offers rather solid specifications. The Chuwi Hi8 features an 8-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS display along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB). This tablet is powered by Intel’s Z3736F quad-core SoC running at 2.16GHz. The 2-megapixel camera is available on its back, and a 0.3-megapixel snapper can be found on the front side of this thing. The 4,000mAh battery is also a part of the package, while the device measures 211 x 123 x 8mm and weighs 304 grams.
