While many of us likely already have our go-to apps that we can’t live without, it can’t hurt to explore some new and interesting applications from time to time. This week we’ve put together a small list of some of the new apps and updated apps with new features we were able to find which might be of some interest to you. Check them out below for a brief description and if you like what you see, the Play Store links will be included for you.

PBS VideoPBS Video

PBS Video isn’t new this week but it did just recently get an update on June 9th which brings in at least one new feature, which should be handy for anyone who has a Chromecast in the home. Yes, PBS Video now includes Chromecast streaming support, so if you enjoy the content PBS puts out and you’d prefer to stream it if you’re at home and able to do so, now you can. You can also check out the new local PBS station TV schedules as well as the watchlist section.Google-Play-Banner-Get-it-On-Large1

WishboneWishbone

Wishbone is listed as a social application, letting you compare virtually anything you can think of from varying topics of social content. You’ll be given new questions each day from a varied set of different categories, ranging from whether you prefer sun or snow, to if you prefer shoes or boots. Once you’ve gone through all 12 questions that morning, the app will feed you a series of 12 questions later on in the day, presumably spanning 12 different pop culture/social topics. There’s not much to the app it seems like, but if you enjoy a little bit of pop culture it’s a unique way to interact.Google-Play-Banner-Get-it-On-Large1

Intro by About MeIntro

If you’re familiar with and use About Me as a means for storing and swapping your contact information, sending that contact info just got a little easier with About Me’s ‘Intro’ app. It allows you to control and manage the information you want to share with others right from the application, you can correspond with your connections and it’s a easy way to see who has your About Me card info. Likewise, you can see the info you have from others as well.Google-Play-Banner-Get-it-On-Large1

Heard: Social Content ExchangeHeard

Heard is a way for users to stay on top of trending topics and content without the process of friends or followers according to the app description, by recommending things for you to read and discover, seemingly based on preferences. You can also create topics or content on your own which Heard will then share with the relevant groups of people who have interest in the topic category which you’ve placed your creations in.Google-Play-Banner-Get-it-On-Large1

PouncePounce

Pounce takes the act of shopping and brings it to mobile users in a new and presumably fun way by letting you shop for things by snapping pictures of stuff you’re interested in buying. Just take a picture of that new purse or that new pair of sneakers which you’ve been dying to pick up and Pounce will then process your photo and take you to the next page where you can purchase the things you’re looking for. After snapping photos of things you want, Pounce gives you a list of search results which are similar to what you took the picture of, and gives you the opportunity to buy it with one simple click.Google-Play-Banner-Get-it-On-Large1
