The Nubia Z9 has definitely been one of the most leaked devices this year, if not on top of that list. This handset has been surfacing all over the internet for the last couple of months showing off its ‘bezel-less’ design, specifications and all sorts of features along the way. ZTE has also released a ton of official teasers over that period of time and definitely managed to hype up this device. Well, the company has finally announced their long-awaited flagship which joins the likes of Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini which were announced quite recently. Anyhow, ZTE has just announced the Nubia Z9 in China, let’s see what this handset has to offer and how accurate were all the leaks.
ZTE’s Nubia Z9 flagship features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. ZTE’s flagship is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor which ships with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics. The 16-megapixel OIS camera (f/2.0 aperture, 6P optical lens, 1/2.6-inch CMOS sensor) is located on the back of this handset and flanked by an LED flash. The 80-degree wide-angle 8-megapixel shooter (1.4μm pixel size, CMOS sensor) is available on the front side of this device. Those cameras take advantage of what ZTE calls ‘NeoVision 5.1 interface’, which is essentially the company’s camera software equipped with all sorts of advanced options. The 2,900mAh battery is located on the inside of this device, and Nubia Z9 will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed with ZTE’s Nubia UI on top of it. Dual band 4G LTE connectivity is also a part of this package, the device is both FDD-LTE and TD-LTE compatible.
The company has also introduced ‘FiT’, which is short for ‘Fringe Interaction Technology‘. This tech has leaked several times now, and it basically allows you to activate certain action on the phone by swiping its sides. These actions seem to be customizable and ZTE will almost certainly release APIs in order to allow developers to integrate their own actions here. Another interesting this about this handset is that it offers fingerprint scanning technology as well, but for the first time this feature is available on the phone’s side. As you already know, other OEMs are including it on the front or back of the device, ZTE opted for a different approach. The company did not reveal pricing of the device just yet, nor did they say when will it become available.
…developing…

I’ve always been interested in technology but when I got my first Android phone years ago I was hooked. Mobile technology has been my first priority ever since. I’m currently using the LG G3 phablet, even though I’m prone to using Nexus devices, but I sold my Nexus 5 smartphone and the Nexus 6 is just too big (and pricey) for me. Other than technology I also enjoy football, movies and TV shows along with socializing with my friends and family.
