Top Android News Stories May 24th

With Google I/O coming up this week there was a fair share of possible rumors and details that came up about what we might see at this week’s event, ranging from what Google might include with Android M to whether or not we might see Glass 2.0. We also learned some potentially new details about Android Wear’s future feature set, and we saw Google and Skrillex release the first line of live cases for the Nexus 6. If you have yet to pick up an Android Wear device, waiting might serve as a benefit, as we may end up seeing new Android Wear hardware that supports speaker functionality and on-watch calls.

Although there are still a few days to wait, Google I/O may reveal the anticipated Android M which is rumored to come along with a fingerprint authentication functionality, something that may suggest fingerprint sensors in future Nexus devices perhaps. For current Android Wear device owners this past week, Android Wear 5.1.1 started rolling out which for many, brought WiFi support as well as other useful features like gestures for cycling through notification cards. One of the watches which wasn’t listed as receiving WiFi support with this update is the LG G Watch R, but LG has apparently stated it will receive WiFi support later this year.
