The Play Store features tons of applications with more being added on what seems like a daily basis, and it might be hard for some to keep up on all the new apps launching. That’s why each week we’re going to put together a list of ten new or newer apps that are available. Let’s go ahead and kick things off.
Type Drawing
Type Drawing isn’t likely going to be an app you use on a consistent daily basis, but it is a cool little app we found in the Play Store that is worth checking out. It lets you create your own typography just by typing in the words and then drawing on the screen with your finger. There are tons of options, and you can create something from scratch or you can import photos and draw on top of them.
Kiwi Camera
Kiwi Camera is one of the many different camera apps available which can help you enhance your photos. You’ll find a number of applicable filters as well as themes and other image tweaks you can make, like adding frames or stickers or creating a customized collage of pictures.
Forks Over Knives
This is a cookbook/recipe app with loads of recipes for different plant-based meals. Recipes come from leading chefs and you’ll easily be able to discover new things to make for breakfast lunch and dinner with simple instructions to follow. At current there are over 180 different recipes within the app but more new recipes continue to be added daily, so you should have an ever growing list of things to make.
Shuddle
Shuddle is basically and Uber for kids. It’s a ride share service, but think of it like having your own personal carpool whenever you need your kids to be somewhere but also have other things tieing you up. It can be perfect for busy family lifestyles and you can keep tabs on your kids in real-time so you know where they are on route and when they’re dropped off.
Foodkeeper
Foodkeeper is all about helping you save food that is still good. It aims to cut down on the amount of food wasted every year by listing the amount of times food can be safely stored before it spoils. While you may already have a good idea of the times some products go bad, if you’re unsure or just need a refresher Foodkeeper can help to inform on how to use foods at peak quality.
Snap Me Up
Snap Me Up is an interesting take on the alarm clock, allowing you to set your various alarms (should you have more than one that you use regularly) and when they go off in the morning the only way to dismiss the alarm is by snapping a photo of your face. If the camera doesn’t recognize your face in the picture, the alarm keeps going. You can keep the images to yourself or you can share them with others.
Vida Health Coach
If you need a little more motivation for exercise and living healthier, Vida Health Coach aims to be the support you need. The app lets you get support from real experts in various areas related to health and fitness no matter the time of day as coaches are available 24/7. You can keep in contact via text as well as through video check-ins which happen on a weekly basis.
AlarmMon
This is another alarm application to motivate people to get out of bed, although not quite like the last one in this list. Instead of requiring you to take pictures of your face to dismiss the alarms, AlarmMon wakes you up with simple little games to help ease you out of sleep. You can choose from a selective variety of different alarm types each with their own unique characters and mini-game. It’s a fresh and fun take on getting up, which is something that many of us dread nearly every single morning.
Citymaps
Citymaps claims to be your personal travel guide for local areas. It can help you discover all the local places around you like places to eat, places to have drinks, places to shop, see movies, etc. Everything gets displayed on the map with a little visual icon marker, and you can tap on those markers for more detailed information like address, operating times, phone number and more.
Wemple Weather
If you love the aspect of material design UI’s this is the weather app for you. It’s simple and colorful, and has all the basic things you’d expect from a weather application like a 5-day hourly forecast, a 14-day forecast, and auto-updates for any weather data. It also features geo-positioning so if the weather conditions in your area change, the app will change along with it to reflect the correct information.
