Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge flagships seem to be well received by the public and the company is currently busy manufacturing both of those handsets. That being said, this Korea-based smartphone OEM found some time in their schedule to announce a pair of new tablets which have been leaked several times before, the Galaxy Tab A variants. The company has announced two variants of this tablet, each of them will be available in two different variants. Let’s see what they have to offer.
Both variants of this tablet feature a 9.7-inch XGA TFT display and are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 quad-core 64-bit processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with an Adreno 306 GPU for graphics. What’s the difference between the two devices? Well, one sports 1.5GB of RAM, while the other one will ship with 2GB of RAM. The 1.5GB variant seems identical to the one we’ve covered in the past, which leads us to believe this is a Korea-only launch, but we cannot confirm that at the moment. Anyhow, both of these tablets offers 32GB of expandable internal storage, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooters. The 2GB version of the tablet also offers 4G LTE connectivity, so you have a SIM slot available in this device. The 1.5GB version of this tablet doesn’t seem to offer a SIM slot though. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of Google’s OS. Both tablets measure 242.5 x 166.8 x 9.7mm, the Wi-Fi variant of the tablet weighs 487 grams while the 4G LTE model weighs 490 grams.
Both of these tablets will ship with Samsung’s S Pen and a full suite of software additions for that stylus, though it seems like Samsung will offer models without the S Pen as well, which means that there will be 4 versions of the tablet overall. As far as the S Pen variants are concerned, you’ll have access to features like Air Command, Smart Select… and a ton of others, while you’ll also be able to take advantage of all sorts of shortucuts and what not. Samsung’s Galaxy A 9.7-inch tablets will also ship with Microsoft Office suite including World, Excel, PowerPoint and One Note. Microsoft’s Skype and One Drive applications will also come pre-installed on these two tablets. Samsung’s TouchWiz UI is full of all sorts of software features as well, as most of you know. The Galaxy Tab A 9.7-inch tablets will be available from mid-May in Korea, Samsung didn’t share any details regarding the further availability of these devices.

I’ve always been interested in technology but when I got my first Android phone years ago I was hooked. Mobile technology has been my first priority ever since. I’m currently using the LG G3 phablet, even though I’m prone to using Nexus devices, but I sold my Nexus 5 smartphone and the Nexus 6 is just too big (and pricey) for me. Other than technology I also enjoy football, movies and TV shows along with socializing with my friends and family.
